Dear friends of CAA,
Please pray for me and all the participants of this historic debate. I am invited to ask one question regarding the future President’s China policy on trade, religious freedom and human rights in China. You can watch this debate on TV, online or hear it at various national radio programs.(read the following press release from the organizers). I am told 7 of the 9 GOP candidates have decided to attend while all of the Democrats candidates declined the invitation. Please pray that i can present my question in the right way that it can make a true difference.
Your coworker,
Bob Fu
Below is the invitation letter
Dear Rev. Bob Fu:
You are cordially invited to participate in a Values Voters’ Republican Presidential debate hosted by key leaders in the pro-family movement on Monday, September 17th at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Ft. This is a non-partisan, non-political event since both the Democrats and the Republicans were invited to attend and questions are of an educational and informational nature with no candidate advocacy included the program. While all of the Democrats declined (for an event scheduled for the following week), seven of the ten announced candidates have confirmed attendance at the Values Voter Presidential Debate September 17th.
The debate will begin with an opening statement by each candidate followed by three rounds of questions from pro-family leaders and a closing statement by each candidate. Each candidate will also be given two “wildcard minutes” to use in one minute increments whenever they would like. This could be used to extend an opening or closing statement, clarify a “yes” or “no” answer, or to challenge or respond to another candidate’s statements.
* Opening Statement –one minute
* ROUND ONE: Open Ended Questions—asked of each candidate with one minute to respond
* ROUND TWO: Yes/No Questions—asked of each candidate
* ROUND THREE: Individual Questions—asked by one leader to ONE candidate. They will get one minute to respond
* Closing Statement –one minute
You have been selected to ask a question in either Round Two or Round Three. A “Yes/No question” should be specific and direct such as: “Do you support federal funding of embryonic stem cell research?”

“HISTORIC VALUES VOTER PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE TODAY!”
Straw Poll Expected to Unify Pro-Family Movement
For Immediate Release - September 17, 2007
The Values Voter Presidential Debate, that is being held later today at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, may very well choose the pro-family candidate for Values Voters to rally behind.
ost Committee members include Phyllis Schlafly, Paul Weyrich, Don Wildmon, Mat Staver, Rick Scarborough, and Janet Folger.
“Unlike other straw polls where candidates have bussed in supporters or paid for their tickets, forty national leaders hand selected more than 600 delegates who accurately represent America’s largest voting block,” said Mat Staver, Chairman of Liberty Counsel.
“This will be the most important straw poll yet.”
At least seven of the announced Republican candidates will be participating. “The door is still open for the others to come,” said Rick Scarborough. “If you care about our votes, you need to care about our values enough to show up.”
“Don’t miss it!” said Phyllis Schlafly, President of Eagle Forum who added that candidates who snub us will not be happy with the results. A Voter Guide DVD is being filmed and produced at the event for wide distribution.
The Democrats were invited to a similar event, but all declined. “Would you elect a man President of the United States who was afraid of tough questioning from Phyllis Schlafly?” asked World Net Daily founder and CEO Joseph Farah, who will moderate tonight’s debate. “I expect tonight’s straw poll to decide the nominee,” said Janet Folger, President of Faith2Action.
The Values Voters Presidential Debate can be seen LIVE from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. ET tonight on Sky Angel’s “Angel One” (Channel 9701), which is also on the Dish Network at Channel 262. It will be broadcast live via satellite by the VCY America Network and carried by the American Family Radio and Calvary Chapel Reach FM Networks. It will be streamed live online at www.AFA.net and www.ValuesVoterDebate.com.

I would like to have a Voter Guide DVD. as you said they would be widely distributed. I know Bob Fu. He is an awesome person. He has attended our church on visits. Just e-mail me back if you’re able to get me a DVD. I feel that every vote does count. And some people don’t care to vote. And this is so wrong. Whenever the voting doors are open it’s a must to go. This is why our world is in such turmoil, because no one cares to attend these meetings that could help our well-being. They take God out and this is the result. Pain and sorrow! I’m just a concerned american and I’d like to see all Republicians and ALL Democrats attend this meeting. They all could make a difference. Thanks so much for your time. Have a Blessed Day! Rose
