NEPAL (ANS) — A Roman Catholic priest was shot dead in Nepal on July 1 by a gang of robbers.
According to a story reported by the Christian Messenger, the priest’s religious order, based in Thrissur, Kerala, said that Johnson Moyalan, 52, from Ollur in Thrissur district, was attacked around 1 a.m.
He belonged to the Roman Catholic religious order of Salesians of Don Bosco.
“Moyalan and two other priests were running a Parish and an educational institution at Dharan near Sirsia in Nepal,” C.J. Sebastian, rector of Don Bosco in Thrissur district, told the Christian Messenger.
Sirsia is about four hours drive from Siliguri in West Bengal.
