The free world advocate of the persecuted Church in China, China Aid Association (CAA) was founded in 2002 by Bob Fu..
Through an expanding research network, CAA documents accounts of religious persecution throughout China and exposes these abuses through press releases, publications, testimony, summits and conferences. National and international media outlets including: The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Associated Press, BBC, The Wall Street Journal, Voice of America and Radio Free Asia rely on CAA’s timeliness and accuracy.
China Aid provides financial support for pastors and the families of prisoners and martyrs, as well as helping to defray legal expenses. CAA also works through international intervention in partnership with the U.S. government, UN, European Union, NGOs and church and parachurch organizations.
CAA trains and supports researchers and students of theology, law and journalism. It sponsors China’s only house church magazine and publishes Chinese Law and Religion Monitor Journal and www.MonitorChina.org, a comprehensive online Library on Religion and Law in China, available on two websites; English language and Chinese.
Although CAA’s connections inside China are primarily with Christians, the organization supports the broad principle of freedom of religion and conducts activities which protect the civil rights of believers from all religions.
CAA President and Founder Bob Fu Xiqiu is a PhD candidate at Westminster Theological Seminary in Glenside, PA. Between 2003 and 2007, he was a visiting professor at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. In China, Bob served as a pastor in the Protestant house church movement and was imprisoned for two months for his religious activities. He has testified before many organizations, including the House International Relations Committee, U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, the Congressional-Executive Commission on China and the UN Commission on Human Rights.
The CAA Advisory Board includes: Dr. Arthur Waldron (Lauder Professor of International Relations at UPENN), Dr. David Aikman (former TIME Beijing Bureau Chief), Michael Horowitz (Hudson Institute), Mr. Kevin Hasson (former President, Becket Fund for Religious Liberty), Ms. Deborah Fikes (Executive Director, The Midland Ministerial Alliance), and Joseph Grieboski (Founder & President, the Institute on Religion & Public Policy).
