(Wenzhou, Zhejiang—Sept. 8, 2015) A teaching pastor in volatile Wenzhou, Zhejiang was detained on Aug. 29, with no official reason given.

Cheng Chaohua, a recently-ordained teaching pastor of China Christian Evangelic Mission, was taken by a group of officers on Saturday morning. Cheng is a co-worker of Pastor Yan Xiaojie, who was detained the day before Cheng for forwarding prayer messages over WeChat. Yan was originally slated for eight days of administrative detention, but has since had his sentence commuted to criminal detention and extended indefinitely. There was no indication of when Cheng will be released either and his family was not notified of the detention.
