60 organizations call upon UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in upcoming visit to China

(ChinaAid, Midland, TX) ChinaAid signed a joint statement with 59 other organizations calling upon the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet. She plans to officially visit China in May, and ChinaAid and others listed mandatory conditions for a successful, credible endeavor. 

 

These 60 organizations require the UNHCHR to verify the well-being of human rights activists in prison and to produce the promised report on the Xinjiang region, where an estimated 1-3 million Uyghurs suffer at the hands of the Chinese government.
