(Washington, D.C.—Feb. 20, 2014) An Alabama congressman wrote a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping earlier this month, asking Xi to allow Christians to worship freely after the congressman heard about a religious persecution case in China’s central Henan province.

Congressman Mo Brooks (R-AL) wrote the letter on Feb. 6 after meeting with Bob Fu, ChinaAid’s founder and president, and Xia Jun, one of the lawyers representing detained Christians in the Nanle County religious case (see https://chinaaid.org/2013/11/update-three-self-sanctioned-church.html, https://chinaaid.org/2013/11/more-governmental-obstacles-faced-by.html and https://chinaaid.org/2014/02/nanle-county-lawyers-submit-complaint.html).
