Beijing Shouwang Church Announcement on Oct 16th Outdoor Worship Service – Week 28

imageDear brothers and sisters:

Peace in the Lord! On Oct 16th, Shouwang had her twenty-eighth Sunday outdoor worship service. This past Sunday, many believers prayed fervently before God.  Through God’s strength, they have experienced peace, joy and victory in Him.

This past week, many believers were detained at home on Saturday. As far as we know, at least twenty believers were taken away Sunday morning for going to the planned location to join the outdoor service, either at the spot or on their way there (including a brother from another church). Two of them were released on the way to police station, and the rest of them were sent to ten local police stations in their respective areas. By 12:30am the next day, nineteen believers were released home.  The last sister detained at Guangying Police Station of Chaoyang District was not released until 7:30am on the Oct 17th.

We give thanks to the Lord! The Lord himself encourages brothers and sisters to entrust themselves to God, and to go outdoors to worship with faith and courage from God. Although we are weary from this prolonged battle, the Holy Spirit who works in our hearts renews us and grants us sufficient faith and strength to follow Him.  No force or power in this world is able to overcome our faith and strength in Him.

God hears our prayers. Let us continue to pray to God, that he will restore our faith and add to our strength. We humbly admit that as we experience various kinds of hardships and prolonged trials, we are weak and even stumbled at times during this period of church building purchase and outdoor service. May God have mercy on us, and restore our faith and strength with his grace. We believe that God’s grace and mightiness shall be revealed among his people: “He tends his flock like a shepherd. He gathers the lambs in his arms, and carries them close to his heart, he gently leads those that have young.” (Isaiah 40:11)

May peace and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the mercy and love of Father God, and the comfort and guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Advocate, be with each brother and sister of Shouwang Church and all the churches who remember Shouwang Church in prayers, from this time on and forevermore! Amen.
