Beijing Shouwang Church Announcement on Nov 27th Outdoor Worship Service – Week 34

imageDear brothers and sisters:

Peace in the Lord! On Nov 27th, Shouwang had her thirty-fourth Sunday outdoor worship service. In the past week, many believers were detained at home since Saturday. On Friday night, a sister was taken to a hotel for detention. As far as we know, on Sunday morning, at least twenty-three believers were taken away for going to the planned location to join the outdoor service, either at the spot or on their way there (including a sister from Xinshu Church). Except three believers who were released on the way, the rest of them were sent to ten local police stations of their respective area. Till midnight, nineteen believers were released home, and the other five believers were still detained respectively in Zhongguancun Street police station and Shuguang police station in Haidian district. The last believer was not released until 7:30 am on the 29th, after forty-eight hours detention.

As the battle of having outdoor service continues, and especially intensifies since it is almost December, some policemen often lose control of their emotion; some cursed believers and shouted at them for a long time, and some even choked off our sisters. On this Sunday, a policeman at Zhongguancun Street police station, being upset, dragged out two believers waiting in the lobby by force, and threw their bags on the street. May God have mercy on these policemen. Let us continue to pray for them in perseverance, that God will forgive their sin, open their hearts, and save them from the bondage of sin.

As the end of December is approaching, we need to pray much more fervently before God. We pray that God will continue to sustain and protect his Shouwang Church with power and grace, that God will open a way for us to bring us to the place he prepares for us, and that God will make his will clear to his church for us to follow under each circumstance.

We believe that in this evil age, our God “For Zion’s sake will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake will not remain quiet, till her vindication shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.” (Isaiah 62:1). Being a watchman in this age, we need to pray to God day and night, “Give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.” (Isaiah 62:7)

May peace and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the mercy and love of Father God, and the console and guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Advocate, be with each brother and sister of Shouwang Church and all the churches who remember Shouwang Church in prayers, from this time on and forevermore! Amen.
