(Shenzhen—Nov. 3, 2012) A house church evangelistic team that was taken into police custody for handing out tracts and preaching the Gospel in the southern city of Shenzhen has been released after four days’ detention, ChinaAid has learned.
The six-person team was engaged in the evangelistic activities in a plaza in Shenzhen, which borders Hong Kong, when they were apprehended on Oct. 27 by Shenzhen police. Among those taken was a blind Christian, Li Hailing, from Handan in Hebei province, who was giving his personal testimony just as the police arrived. The others who were apprehended included Du Weixiao from Nanchang, Jiangxi province; Huo Xiaofeng from Xuchang, Henanprovinc; and Han Dongkui from Yanji, Jilin province.
After four days in police custody, the six were released on Oct. 31. This team has been traveling all across China preaching the Gospel.
