(Chengdu, Sichuan—Oct. 24, 2019) A Christian was released today after spending seven months imprisoned for his faith.

Gou spent at least part of his jail time in the basement of a government office. He had refused to reveal the passwords to his computer and cell phone to the authorities.

He has been sent back to his hometown in Bazhong, Sichuan.

Previously, he spent another 10 years in prison for his human rights work.

Gou is affiliated with Early Rain Covenant Church, located Chengdu, Sichuan. In the past year, the congregation has had more than 150 of its members taken into custody.
