(Washington, D.C.—April 4, 2019) A committee focusing its efforts on curbing threats posed by China to the outside world will commence a series of roundtable talks that are “aimed at raising awareness about the magnitude of the Chinese Communist Party’s multifaceted and intensifying effort to supplant the United States as the world’s dominant power” next week, according to the group’s press advisory.

This second convening of the Committee on the Present Danger: China (CPDC) will take place on Tuesday, April 9 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. EST at the Ballroom of the Reserve Officers Association, located at One Constitution Ave., NE, in Washington, D.C. ChinaAid President Bob Fu, other members of the CPDC, scholars, policymakers, and former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Newt Gingrich are expected to be in attendance and provide commentary.

In addition, the release listed the committee’s founding members as “Brian Kennedy, chairman; Frank Gaffney, vice chairman; R. James Woolsey; Dr. William Bennett; Steve Bannon; Mark Helprin; Pastor Bob Fu; Kevin Freeman; Dr. Peter Pry; Dr. Sasha Gong; LTG William Boykin; Hon. Ed Timperlake; Dr. Mark Schneider; Richard Fisher; Amb. Hank Cooper; Lianchao Han; Dr. Michael Waller; Capt. James Fanell, USN (Ret.); Col./Dr. Lawrence Sellin, USA (Ret.); Dr. Dan Blumenthal; Dr. Stephen Mosher; and Dr. Bradley Thayer.”

The press is invited to attend this event and is asked to RSVP by e-mailing [email protected]. The meeting can also be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/securefreedom.

The committee, which launched in March, is a reincarnation of several previous committees that focused on issues ranging from the former Soviet Union to the War on Terror and aims to protect the American public via education on the threats China poses and prevention of such threats.
