Guo Feixiong

Front Line Defenders, the International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, recently reported on the detainment of Guo Feixiong. Guo, born Yang Maodong, was arrested on Aug. 8 on charges of “assembling a crowd to disrupt order in a public place.” Guo’s lawyer, Sui Muqing believes this arrest is related to Guo’s participation in the January protests concerning the censorship of Southern Weekend, a Chinese newspaper. Guo has a history of being harassed by the Chinese government. The full story can be viewed on Front Line Defenders website at http://frontlinedefenders.org/node/23566.
