House Church Christian Activist Hua Huiqi and Mr. Qi Zhiyong were removed from Home before US Presidential Visit

(Midland, Texas(CAA)—Nov 19, 2005) CAA learned on the eve of the US Presidential visit to Beijing, two prominent house church activists were forced to leave their homes in order to avoid any chance of them meeting with president Bush.
Mr. Hua Huiqi, a prominent house church activist and his wife Ju Mei were asked to leave their home on November 17. The PSB office of Xuanwu District purchased them air tickets for tourism”  to Chengdu city, Sichuan province.
Meanwhile, a veteran demonstrator Mr. Qi Zhiyong was also asked to leave his home by 9 policemen and other officials. He was told their “assigned task is to restrict your freedom of movement during Bush’s visit.” He was instructed not to accept any interviews by foreign media. Mr. Qi was a prominent figure in the June 4th, 1989 Tian’an Men massacre where he was crushed by a military tank and paralyzed.
