|Pastor Liu Fenggang|
On Sept. 3, Pastor Liu Fenggang is asking for financial assistance after learning that he once again needs surgery to treat his many cardiac conditions.
In need of emergency surgery, Liu argued with the cardiologist to do the surgery required, but instead was forcibly discharged from the hospital because he could not pay the 70,000 yuan ($11,440). Liu has served the Lord by preaching at house churches in China for many years and his wife is a stay-at-home mom. The couple have school age children. They chose to serve the Lord rather than find high-income careers.
Liu was previously diagnosed with coronary atherosclerosis, spontaneous angina, stent implantation hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and Type 2 diabetes. Coronary atherosclerosis, the hardening of arteries, can cause renal hypertension, which is high blood pressure caused by the narrowing of the arteries of the kidneys. Lui had a stent implanted to resolve the hypertension, but the condition persisted. Spontaneous angina means that Liu has spontaneous chest pain. Hyperlipidemia is an elevated level of lipids, or fats, in the bloodstream. Also, Liu has previously had a heart attack.
In 2007, Liu had his first cardiovascular surgery and the expense were paid for by ChinaAid. In August 2011, Liu required a second surgery, which was paid for by relatives and friend. This time, there is no one to front the cost of the surgery.
The couple urgently appealed to ChinaAid for financial help. To find out how you can contribute to Liu’s surgery, please call the ChinaAid office at (432)689-6985.
