News Flash: Shaanxi Luonan house church’ summer camp suffers raid and arrest

(Sanyao Town, Shannx — August 28, 2012) ChinaAid has learned that at about 10 am on August 24, 2012, the students’ summer camp of a house church in Sanyao Town, Luonan County, Shaanxi Province, was raided by the Domestic Security Protection Agency. Students were forcibly dismissed. A teacher was arrested and released in the afternoon. School supplies including computers were taken by force and no legal papers were shown in this process.

China Aid Association expressed condemnation to this incident and urged Shaanxi authorities to handle grassroots- level issues properly, protect citizens’ rights of religious belief according to law, and return without delay the unlawfully confiscated church property.
