(California – March 27, 2026) The highly anticipated unveiling ceremony for the statue of lawyer Gao Zhisheng (高智晟), known as the “Conscience of China,” is scheduled to be held on April 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Liberty Sculpture Park in California. Pastor Bob Fu, renowned human rights activist and founder of ChinaAid, will attend as a keynote speaker and deliver an address.
Pastor Bob Fu, a longtime close friend of lawyer Gao Zhisheng and his family, personally participated in and coordinated the arduous rescue mission in 2009 that helped Gao’s wife, Geng He (耿和), and their children cross the border and eventually obtain asylum in the United States. For years, pastor Fu has not only campaigned tirelessly for Gao Zhisheng’s freedom on the international diplomatic stage but has also served as a vital guardian for his family through spiritual support and practical assistance.
As one of China’s most influential human rights lawyers, Mr. Gao Zhisheng defended the rule of law and human rights with extraordinary courage and is widely recognized as a moral benchmark for contemporary Chinese people. The statue of Gao Zhisheng, created by the well-known sculptor Chen Weiming (陈维明), aims to commemorate his journey of unyielding resistance. Bob Fu’s attendance is not only a tribute to Gao Zhisheng’s spirit but also a symbol of the enduring power of faith on the path to justice.
