(CIC exclusive) Early this morning visiting Chinese Christian intellectuals Yu Jie and Li Boguang received a letter from the China Graduate School of Theology, saying their scheduled visit to Hong Kong was cancelled.
“Due to a certain event that has caught international attention recently,” says the letter, “your scheduled visit to our school from June 11 to June 24 becomes unsuitable. Therefore, we have decided to temporarily cancel this visit.” Evidently, the cancellation of the visit is mainly caused by their meeting with President Bush on Tuesday.
This morning, after Yu Jie received the letter of refusal, he replied with an open letter to the authorities of the China Graduate School of Theology. He demands the school to make apologize for their decision and to give an adequate explanation to the cancellation.
