(Chengdu, Sichuan—Nov. 23, 2019) Elder Qin Defu of Early Rain Covenant Church will be tried on Nov. 25 at People’s Court of Qingyang District, Chengdu.

Only two relatives will be allowed to attend the trial. However, no church members will be allowed. Qin, who was charged with “illegal business operations,” has been denied access to legal counsel in the past.

Early Rain Covenant Church has faced ongoing persecution from the Chinese government over the years. It culminated on Dec. 9, 2018 when officials raided the church arresting nearly 100 people within a 24 hour period. When church members tried to meet again in two separate groups, more were arrested, bringing the total number of arrested people to around 160.

ChinaAid exposes abuses in order to stand in solidarity with the persecuted and promote religious freedom, human rights, and rule of law. If you wish to partner with us in helping those persecuted by the Chinese government for their beliefs, please click here to make a charitable donation.
