(Linyi, Shandong–Feb, 09, 2011) Chen Guangcheng, the blind self-taught human rights lawyer, was released at the end of a four-year jail term on September 9th. Yet authorities in the eastern province of Shandong, Linyi continue to hold Chen Guangcheng, his wife and their young daughter under house arrest.

ChinaAid has received a breathtaking hour-long video exclusively about Chen Guangchen being under daily house arrest. Chen and his wife Yuan speak in the video with unfailing spirit and brave hearts to expose their inhuman treatment from the Chinese government. Chen also thanks all their supporters from around the world, and he indicated that he would never stop fighting for justice and rule of law. (The following video have five parts with only the beginning of Part 1 has been translated. The full English version of the video is coming soon.)

Bob Fu, president and founder of China Aid Association, is currently leading a Chinese Christian delegation in their visit to Washington D.C. to discuss issues of religious freedom and rule of law in China. Fu commented on the video, saying, “We strongly condemn the severe persecution imposed on Chen’s family and the violation of Chinese law by the Chinese government. We will continue to fight for Cheng Guancheng and Dr. Fan Yafeng’s freedom until justice is fulfilled. We are proud of them as models for all of Chinese citizens. May God bless their cause and reward them.”
