Pray for the Police of the Chinese Communist Party
My name is Hua Huiqi and I’m 45 years old. I accepted Jesus Christ in 1990. Over the past 17 years, my family and I have often received brothers and sisters coming from all over the country. Because of this, the Chinese police have on many occasions persecuted, threatened, terrorized, beaten, and detained me.
On November 26, 2007, the police arrested me on “suspicion of interfering with the execution of public duties.” In the meantime, my mother Shuang Shuying, 77, went to the government office and demanded my release. However, she fell prey to a police plot and was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison. The policeman in charge of religious affairs from Beijing Municipality (Police No. 001761) said to me several times in the prison, “Hua Huiqi, as long as you cooperate with us and lure Bob Fu, president of China Aid Association, to mainland China and tell us how the fund from China Aid gets into China, we will release your mother. This is just a matter of a word from the director of our bureau. In that case, all your family will enjoy a happy life.” When I refused them, they sentenced me to half a year in prison.
On July 25, 2007, after I went back home, Meng Zhuang, from Domestic Security Force of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, came to my house several times to scare me and asked me to provide them with a list of names of all the brothers and sisters and petitioners who have stayed in my house. I refused. Meng Zhuang also said, “The leaders in the Municipal Public Security Bureau are detaining your mother as a hostage. Now everything depends on your actions!”
At 11:00 PM on the night of October 1, seven or eight policemen, including a policewoman named Du from Chongwen Branch of Domestic Security Force, Bai Ying, Yang Jian, and Dong Wanjun, deputy director of Gymnasium Police Station took me by force to a place where they threatened and terrorized me. Dong Wanjun said, “If you cooperate with us, your mother will be released. Otherwise, you are going to have a tough time.” On the afternoon of October 2, the police again took me by force to a house rented by my father. Over 30 policemen were deployed on the roof of the bungalow, the courtyard, and the surrounding areas. Dong Wanjun and the director of the station Zhang Qinghua threatened me saying, “You are not allowed to go anywhere. The moment you try to go out of here, we will beat you. After the beating, we will carry you to the local police station. We won’t give up until you cooperate with us.” What is even more outrageous is that the police installed at night a big light of several hundred watts outside my window. The light is on throughout the night while the courtyard is filled with policemen. At about 1:00 AM, as we were deep in sleep, Dong Wanjun, the deputy director of the station, led a group of policemen and broke into the room.
They ripped off my door curtain and the window’s curtain. He let the policemen sit in my room and intentionally left the door open. Several policemen began to gamble in loud and low noises of shouting, which disturbed our sleep. Dong Wanjun even threatened me by saying I was not allowed to step out of the door of the room. At 4:00 AM, my old father requested that they close the door, but the policemen tried their best to prevent us from doing so and wouldn’t allow us to close the door. Now, all my family has lost their freedom. Seven policemen stayed in my house. They turned off the electricity at 5:00 PM and welded and sealed the door facing the street. They wouldn’t allow us to go out or other people to enter.
My brothers and sisters of the world, please pray for me. At the same time, brothers and sisters, please also pray for the Chinese police and ask God to soften their heart and pray for the early release of my mother. Please also ask God to touch the heart of the police to make them treat senior citizens well. May the Word of God spread in China. In the holy name of the Lord Jesus. Amen!
