CAA Press: Date for the First Court Examination of the Second Trial of Beijing Pastor Set for Tomorrow

(Midland, Texas-November 29, 2005) CAA learned the First Intermediate People’s Court of Beijing will hold it’s first formal examination concerning Pastor Cai’s second trial, tomorrow at 9:30am.
The Court notified Ms. Hu Jinyun, the sister-in-law of Pastor Cai, less than 48 hours before the examination date. Pastor Cai will be represented by three well-known rights attorneys – Mr. Gao Zhisheng, Dr. Teng Biao and Mr. Zhang Xingshui. The presiding judge denied a request by Dr. Teng Biao demanding all of the attorneys be present in the court during the examination. Dr. Teng Biao told the judge over the phone that it’s illegal to question their client without his attorneys present.
