David Taylor Appointed as Legal Counsel for ChinaAid

ChinaAid proudly announces the appointment of David Taylor, J.D. as the legal counsel of ChinaAid affairs.

Bob Fu, the President of ChinaAid Association, welcomes Taylor and is confident that he will provide excellent legal aid to ChinaAid, and will support the mission statement in promoting welfare of Christian churches, religious freedom, and the rule of law in China.

David Taylor, regarding his new role says, “There is no NGO more dedicated to its mission than China Aid Association. I am proud and honored to have been selected as its Legal Counsel. President Bob Fu and everyone associated with China Aid are consummate professionals and I truly look forward to continuing my work with them in this expanded capacity. We are always looking for new ways to fight persecution and human rights violations in China, and to try to help the people of that nation attain rule of law while rejecting rule of men. I think I speak for all of China Aid when I say we look forward to the fight.”

Taylor received his B.A.from the School of International Studies at the University of South Carolina in 1969, where he specialized in Soviet-East European Affairs and Sino-Soviet Affairs. In 1974, he graduated from the law school at USC, earning his Juris Doctorate degree. He served in the US Army in the 12th JAG Detachment, and later became a founding member of the South Carolina Criminal Defense Trial Lawyers Association. He has been a member of the Stalwart American Association for Justice, the South Carolina Association of Justice, the National Association of Criminal Defense Trial Lawyers, and the American Association for Justice (he was the delegate to China in 2007). He served on numerous committees while with the South Carolina Bar Association, and also served with the Richland County Bar Association. Taylor, a master negotiator, has been certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court at the highest level of trial court mediator and arbitrator. He is also known as a frequent moderator, speaker, and lecturer in law at programs certified for continuing credits for legal education. To add to his many qualifications, he has studied the Chinese legal and political systems and traveled extensively to China.
