(Beijing- September 23, 2008) House Church Alliance President Zhang “Bike” Mingxuan continues to suffer harassment and persecution at the hands of the Chinese Govnernment. Prior to the Olympic Games in Beijing, Zhang was forced to leave the city by PSB officials who did not want him in the city during the games. After being kidnapped by PSB officials Zhang and his wife were sent on a forced vacation where they were under constant surveillance from Govnernment officials. Zhang was strictly forbidden from returning to Beijing until the end of the Paralympic Games on September 16. Following his release Zhang and his wife returned to the capital on September 21. After renting an apartment the couple’s water and electricity were soon cut off by Government officials. The apartment’s landlord was also threatened by the Government to stop renting to the couple. Zhang immediately filed a lawsuit against the Chaoyang District Beijing Court authorities in order to have his utilities turned back on. In response to his request Chaoyang officials told him that he was not welcome in Beijing.
Zhang has continued to fight the constant harassment in court only to be ignored by Government officials.
