The blind Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng, who escaped his house arrest in Shandong province on Sunday, has refused to leave the country according to a US human rights group. Chen, who has posted a video on YouTube confirming his escape, is thought to be under the protection of the US embassy in Beijing
