(Midland, Texas) ChinaAid is proud to release Pastor John Cao’s first poetry collection Living Lyrics: Poems from Prison. Cao depicts the pain, perseverance, and triumph of the persecuted Church in China.
Pastor John Cao currently serves a seven-year sentence in Kunming, Yunnan Province for fabricated charges of “organizing illegal border crossings.” In 2017, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials arrested Cao at the Myanmar-Chinese border as he tried to build schools for minority children. ChinaAid sources believe his arrest was a direct result of Chinese officials cracking down on Christian pastors because Cao has always legally crossed the border.
Despite his imprisonment, John chose to write out his faith in poetry over the last year. His poetry testifies to his incredible faith and commitment to the gospel.
Living Lyrics contains side-by-side Chinese and English translations and is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Bokus (EU), and Booktopia (AU).
