(ChinaAid, Midland TX—April 08, 2021) On April 07, ChinaAid welcomed Shi Minglei, wife of Cheng Yuan, and their 5-year-old daughter, to freedom in the US.
Ms. Shi wrote the following yesterday:
We are free [me], Cheng Yuan’s wife, and daughter!
My daughter and I got out of the darkness right after Easter. Thank God’s grace, the US Department of State, the US Embassy, and ChinaAid Association for bringing my 5-year-old daughter and me to the country of freedom and light—the United States of America!
While lights of the city came on this Lunar New Year’s Eve, I decided to leave [China] with my daughter after debating for a long time. We then embarked on the long journey and left our hometown. It is not easy to travel during the pandemic, one hurdle after another… we felt lonely, fearful, and suffering. The moment we got out of China’s territory, we felt both upset and excited, We could not help crying.
However, “weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” Today, we eventually arrived in the US.
In the following, I make every effort to tell all who value freedom and life about the persecutions that Cheng Yuan, Lui Dazhi, and Wuge Jianxiong (#threeChangshaNGOstaffers) have gone through.
Here, I would like to call on Mayor Zheng Jianxin and all staff who handle the case:
We, the families of the three Changsha NGO staffers, will not give up fighting for our rights as long as the three people are not granted legal rights!
We, the families of the three Changsha NGO staffers, will not stop speaking up if these three men are not released. #Release the three Changsha NGO staffers immediately!
[The Bible reassures:]
- Nothing in the world can be covered.
- Those who walk in the dark dare not see the light, but the light ultimately shines on in the darkness.
- Those who hurt others will hurt themselves.
- You dig a pit today, but you yourselves will fall into it tomorrow.
At the end of her yesterday, Ms. Shi said that she plans to write more later. “I am exhausted after a long trip,” she said.
