His wife Zhang Chunxiao posted this message which has been translated:

On October 10, 2024, Lu Siwei was arrested by the Chengdu Chenghua District Procuratorate and sent to the custody of the Chengdu Detention Center on the same day. The Chenghua District Procuratorate filed a criminal complaint against Lu Siwei with the Chenghua District Court on October 14th for sneaking across the border.

This is a follow-up to Lu Siwei’s attempt to illegally cross national border last year and travel to the U.S. to reunite with my daughter and I. He was intercepted in Laos, detained in Laos for two months, brought back to China and detained for another month, and then released on bail pending trial for nearly a year, and then initiated the prosecution and detention of him.

He only wanted to reunite with his wife and daughter, and sought help from the outside world after leaving China, but did not “collude with the outside world” to cross the border. Lu hopes that friends can write to him or send him postcards or send a book, his address is: Chengdu Pidu District No.3 Zhengyi Lu, Room 709, Chengdu Detention Center recipient: Lu Siwei.
