Xin Naihui was arrested again after being detained on bail for helping to sell Christian books

(Taizhou, Zhejiang Province – March 14, 2024) The Chinese church issued two prayer requests on February 28, stating that Sister Xin Naihui from the Taizhou church in Zhejiang, was detained for helping people sell Christian books.

She was detained for more than 20 days in 2022 on charges of “illegal business operations” before being released on bail pending trial. She was arrested again in November 2023, and her case is currently being represented by the renowned Christian lawyer Zhang Kai. Sister Xin Naihui is in her thirties and serves in ministry at the Taizhou church. Her husband is a preacher who is blind, and they have a seven-year-old daughter.

The case of Xin Naihui is not an isolated one. In Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, Wang Honglan and 9 other Christians were charged with “illegal business operations” for non-profit sales of the Bible. They were criminally detained by the Huimin district branch of the Hohhot Public Security Bureau on April 15, 2021. The trial ended on January 8, 2024, but the verdict has not yet been announced yet.
