Intercessory Prayer Letter from Xi’an Abundant Grace Church
On August 17, 2022, Pastor Lian Changnian, Pastor Lian Xuliang, and Preacher Fu Juan of Xi’an Abundant Grace Church were taken into custody on suspicion of “fraud.” After more than two years, their coercive measures were changed to Residential Surveillance at a Designated Location (RSDL) on April 12, 2025, and the three were able to return home and reunite with their families. It was an indescribable joy to experience such a miraculous reunion given by God.
The case was tried in court on July 9, 2025, but a verdict has not yet been issued. Strangely, while awaiting the court’s decision, the three ministers were again taken from their homes on November 2, 2025, and detained in a detention center.
“The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, intent on putting them to death; but the Lord will not leave the righteous in their power, or let them be condemned when brought to trial. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.”
— Psalm (paraphrased)
Although this case has been long and full of hardship, we believe that God works all things together for good—that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces hope, and through the Holy Spirit poured into our hearts, God’s love sustains us.
We thank all brothers and sisters for your constant concern, prayers, and support. We ask the Lord to continue granting grace to these three ministers, that they may experience God’s presence and surpassing peace even in chains, and that their families may rely firmly on the Lord in their longing and distress. Emmanuel!
