Shanxi Students Barred from Receiving Scholarships

SHANXI — A student fellowship at Shanxi Agricultural University was raided by school authorities and police on October 17, 2010, adding to the ongoing persecution of Christianity dealt by the hand of the university.
The school also disqualified any student taking classes based on Christianity from receiving scholarships — regardless of whether or not they profess Christianity. Since the school authorities know they cannot stop Christian students from practicing their faith, they use students to suppress other students; Christians are seriously discriminated against in their classes.
The students at Shanxi Agricultural University have had their rights as students arbitrarily revoked by school authorities. Hardworking students have been disqualified for receiving available funds simply because of a class on their schedule.
ChinaAid calls on Shanxi Agricultural University to revoke this policy and stop discriminating against students. Also, ChinaAid asks that Christians around the world be in prayer for these students.
